This page is to help you decide on what needle you need
for what job but unsure as to which type to buy.

The first sewing needles were made from bone and wood and were used to sew animal hides     together. The oldest known bone sewing needle was found in what is now southwestern France     and has been estimated to be over 25,000 years old.

Needles have also been found to be made from from copper, silver and bronze also porcupine     and agave leaves. Now adays they are made from steel.
